About Me
Born and raised in Utah, I started piano early in elementary school and continued with formal lessons for years. I've been singing all my life and was a member of choirs all through junior high and high school. When I reached college I had the opportunity to perform with the Utah State University Chamber Singers for 4 years. During that time we produced two studio albums (Devotion and Aggie Songs) and performed across Utah as well as with the Dallas Symphony Chorus in Texas and at the Beijing International Collegiate Choral Festival in China in 2012. In graduate school at the University of Kansas I was part of the KU Chamber Singers as we performed across Kansas, Missouri and Costa Rica.
During the holiday season, I am privileged to be part of the Heritage Singers for This is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake City. I was also part of the group when we were able to record our first ever album.
I have been a part of many musical theatre productions ranging from community theatre to professional level productions. I've had roles onstage as well as backstage including time as stage manager, orchestra member and music director giving me a wide level of ability and experience with all genres of music.
I received my Bachelor of Music from USU in 2014 in Music Education and taught choir at public and charter schools for all secondary grades for 6 years. Under my direction my students routinely performed classical art songs along with spirituals, folk songs, Broadway, jazz and much more. I also hold a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Kansas which I finished in 2018.
I have had experience in private music instruction, voice and piano, with students ranging in age from elementary school to college with great success.
As of now I have been singing for over 20 years, playing piano for much longer and thoroughly enjoy sharing my expertise with others and helping them find joy and excitement in music and succeed as independent performers!
